: I reserved the room directly through Japan House Web site, I was shocked to find out the booking was directed or or transferred to Booking.Com without my knowledge. This is illegal and should report Booking.Com to the Better Business . Booking.Com should return their service feed to my account immediately
: The Japan office lady was very nice

: The beds were large and comfortable, and the room was also much more spacious than I expected! Everything was incredibly clean. The hotel manager was also very friendly and helpful, and gave me extra towels when I asked for them. Wi-fi was fast and reliable; we didn't take advantage of the free sit-down breakfast (regrettably, they don't do to-go options), but it would've been a nice perk for someone who wanted a more leisurely morning. As a side note, I saw some reviews about the allegedly-sorry state of the towels, and while they've certainly seen better days, they did the job and I had no objections to them (the hotel manager kindly apologized in advance for them, but I didn't think they were a big deal at all). While Japan House is definitely in the "motel" category, I had a very pleasant stay there for what it was and was surprised by the great beds and large room.
: The location was slightly outside of town - walking distance if you can handle a 20-25 minute walk to the adorable CDA downtown. It is located right on the main road in an area that can be described as a strip of gas stations, motels, weedy sidewalks, and closed businesses on a very busy road (the main artery through town). There was nothing in the immediate vicinity of the motel, and while I walked to the nearby and very good Moon Time pub restaurant, it wasn't a particularly pleasant walk. The price of my stay was also way more than I expected to pay - $150 for two people; Japan House charges an extra $10 per person, which is another downside - and not worth that much. However, I will say that Japan House was one of the cheapest options available, and based on my exhaustive search, I would've been hard-pressed to find another place that was as good as Japan House.

: Breakfast, there should not be a cat in the dinning room. My wife is allergic to cats. So we didn't have breakfast there the second morning. They also charged extra for my 11 year old son.

: No remote control to turn the volume up or down. Hotel is very overpriced. For what you get. The owners are very cheap on their breakfast. So we did not burden them. They have you choose one choose one coughing, oatmeal or cereal. Very cheap and unprofessional. Very old hotel. You can tell it’s private ran and they must be on a tight budget
